So, I’ve determined that my blog may be a little, um, boring. I don’t want to be boring. Plus, I find myself stressing out entirely too much a little over readership (IF I have any and why my own mother can’t seem to “find the time” to read my writing. Seriously, it takes like 5 minutes to read my blog. Yes, I know I should get over it. Moving on.) and how many views and visitors I have, etc. Stress is bad. I don’t want stress. I just want to be happy and have fun!
I also feel a little pressure over sharing a new recipe every day. It’s really difficult to make new things every day of the week. Some of the things I make, we really really like and I don’t seem to ever make it again because I’m always trying something new. If we want Chili-Mango Chicken or Chana ma-Chicken or Bulgogi, I don’t want to feel guilty about making it because it’s “not new” and “I’ve already blogged about it.” Where’s the fun in that?
That’s why I’m going to change it up a little. Because I really do enjoy writing and blogging (and working out and talking about working out and eating and talking about food) and I want to be happy with my blog and I want my blog to make me happy. 🙂 And, if you read it (Which, obviously you do if you’re reading these words. And thank you, by the way, for reading! Can we be BFFs?), I want it to be interesting to you, provide you with some entertainment, maybe a workout or twelve and some food ideas.
I like to cook. I’m not creative in the least but there’s something about attempting creativity in the kitchen that makes me happy. I can follow a recipe like a BOSS! And, even after I’ve made a recipe a few hundred times, I can forget what goes in it and STILL need to read the recipe. YES!
But, sometimes, I can adapt. And, better yet, sometimes, I can recreate a recipe using slightly different ingredients and make it my own! I can call it my own, right? I mean, I just borrowed an idea and changed it. Is there an APA guide for plagiarizing in the kitchen? No? Good. Then, I’m perfectly capable of making up new recipes! And I will LOVE to share them with you!
And, of course, when I try new recipes and think they’re worth sharing, I’ll share those too! I’ll try to keep them healthy but honestly, sometimes a girl needs cookies so, sometimes, they may not be. But that’s okay too. Because treats are good – so long as you’re not going crazy with them! But, I may not share a recipe every day. I may have a new workout, a health or fitness tip, or maybe just a random story about something to share.
So, that’s where I’m headed. I’m a runner and a crossfitter and a mom and a military spouse and a crazy cat lady and I’m hungry. All the time.
